Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) is a lesser known cannabinoid that is starting to gain more attention for its potential appetite suppressant and energy stimulating effects. To date, THCV-forward products have not been widely available because THCV is typically found in low concentrations in many cultivars. As a result, cultivating for THCV isolate production can be costly for growers, and, consequently, the isolate may be prohibitively expensive for extract manufacturers seeking to formulate with THCV. With this in mind, we undertook a search for cultivars that have higher concentrations of THCV. In the course of that search, we were able to find strains that, when grown at scale, allowed us to extract enough THCV for our ratio-formulated product line.
